When selling tickets for an event, you may encounter situations where you need to cancel or refund orders for specific customers. All refunds are managed through Shopify, and Shopify provides a help page on this topic for additional guidance.
Refunding Orders in Shopify
- Go to the Orders page in Shopify and search for the customer’s name or order information to locate the order.
- Once on the order page, tap on the “Refund” action at the top of the page to begin the refund process.
- Select the line items you want to refund and return.
- Click the “Refund” button at the bottom of the page to complete the process.
Impact of Refunds on Event Tickets
Refunding an order with event tickets does not automatically cancel the tickets in Evey. To enable automatic ticket cancellations when an order is refunded, update your settings:
- From your Evey app, navigate to "Settings."
- Click on Order Settings.
- Enable the option "Cancel all tickets for an order when it is refunded" and don't forget to save your changes.
